Daddy Daughter Day Trip

Last Saturday Brandon and Addy went to Catania. They went to the market to get some fruit then dress shopping. While I got to sleep in and rest all morning long. They had a great time. Addy ended up with two dresses and a rain coat.

Addy's new dress. She insisted on wearing her 3d glasses for the picture

This weekend we took her to Etnaland, which is the only local water park. When we pulled in the parking lot it looked like we were in the parking lot for Sea World. One lot was full of buses at least 25. The rest of the dirt parking area's were packed with cars. My first thought was to turn around and go home. But we stuck it out. The "line" was crazy but once we got our tickets and got inside we had a blast. They had a Bambini pool, which was perfect for Addy. It had 3 small slides that Addy actually went down all by her self. We spent most of our time there. We also went in a tube down the lazy river. I didn't bring my camera since I didn't know what to expect. Which is a good thing. They don't have lockers, everyone just puts there stuff down anywhere they are and leave it. Nothing of ours was taken so I guess it was safe.

Siracusa

This weekend's trip took us to Siracusa, well actually a small island in Siracusa called Ortygia. In Greek mythology its was said to have been ruled by Calypso, the sea nymph, who detained Ulysses for 7 years. The Island is so small it is easy to see everything by foot. We started at the market, where they had a lot of squid for sell. It gave me the creeps. Then we walked the town stopping at fountains and churches. We ended the day walking near the water, watching the boats come in. I love this place, I want to visit again. Addy walking near the water

Brandon and Addy dancing on the steps of the church. There was a young boy playing the accordion, and Addy insisted we dance. I am sure we were quite a sight to see.

Santa Lucia All Badia Church. This is a picture of one of the church leaders and under it is his crown and some of his bones.

More pictures of inside the church. The pictures don't do justice to the beauty of reverence of this church.

Cool building we passed

This is Oribe Pavilion was built by Kenga Kumo, a Japanese architect, made of polycarbonate. it is supposed to be a mobile tea house. Addy had fun playing in it.

Fountain of Diana.

Addy didn't want to turn around for this picture, she said "Daddy, take a picture of my bum" so we did :)

We tried to get Addy to look at the camera, this is the 5th picture we took, I told her to pose like Aunt Andrea and this is what we got. Still not looking at the camera though.

August-Day Trip Month

Since we have family coming in September, and we plan to go to Greece and possibly Rome with them we are taking August off from traveling (plus it's really expensive and hot to travel in August). So instead every weekend we are taking day trips to places in Sicily we haven't been yet. Our first trip was to Cefalu which is a beautiful beach town less than 2 hours away. Addy loved playing in the sand, but still wants nothing to do with the water(what is wrong with my child). After the beach we hit a few shops for some Italian dishes (something on my wish list) we found a few pieces we liked so at least we have a start. Over all a great day. Addy playing in the sand

This is a picture of Addy in her Italia shirt and tutu, she only kept it on for a minute so I had to get a picture. She refuses to wear anything that is not a dress, including skirts.
