Austria Day one
Today we followed Rick Steves Old Town walk. Our hotel is right in the middle of Old Town so this was a perfect walk for us. It started at Mozartplatz, which houses the statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. And during the Christmas markets it had an ice rink. Then we walked to Residenzplatz, this square was covered in booths for the Christmas market, it also is lined with important buildings, the first one we went to was the New Residenz and glokenspiel. next we went to Salzburg Cathderal, it was very beautiful inside, and again there where booths all around set up for the market. It was so festive. We walked through Kapitelplatz, and stopped to take pictures of the statue of a man on a golden ball. From here you can see a great view of the Fortress. We passed the old waterwheel and went to St. Peter's Cemetery.
After walking around the cemetery we stopped at St. Peter's Church, this was a small and humble church. We then went to Universitatsplatz which is an open produce market. We ended on Getreidegasse which is a big shopping street, which was only a few blocks from our hotel. After nap time I took Addy Ice skating, we both had a wonderful time.
